Who We
Are:
Big Gumdrop Outdoors is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in Lincoln, Nebraska, dedicated to educating underserved youth about nature. Through hands-on activities that immerse youth in Nebraska's natural environment and teach essential wilderness skills, we inspire the next generation to explore the outdoors and consider careers in natural resources.
Our Programs:
Fishing:
Teaching patience, technique, and fostering a love for aquatic ecosystems.
Hiking:
Exploring local trails while learning about plants, animals, and conservation.
Wildlife Identification:
Recognizing local wildlife and their habitats, fostering respect for nature.
Shelter Building:
Learning essential survival skills, teamwork, and self-reliance through hands-on activities.
Cooking with Fire:
Discovering safe, practical outdoor cooking techniques while enjoying nature.
MORE Skills and Activities:
We have 45 activities and lessons built to inspire youth to learn about nature and explore the world around them!
