Outside of events, BGO offers hands-on educational programming to engage with youth and nature. We work within LPS afterschool clubs, and run summer programs and exciting field trips!

Survival Skills

Let's explore thrilling adventures! Get ready to learn essential survival skills in a fun, hands-on way. From building shelters to wildlife tracking, we will deepen our connection with nature while having unforgettable experiences.

Wildlife in NE

Embark on a journey through Nebraska's native species, including animals, insects, and plants, enlightening youth about the diverse wildlife inhabiting our surroundings, even those that may go unnoticed in our daily lives.

Conservation

Learn all about what conservation means, and how that looks in our community. We will participate in hands-on activities to understand conservation practices, and how to apply them to our daily lives.

Conservation Storytelling

Kids will learn how to tell stories that inspire others to care about the environment. Through fun, hands-on activities like drawing, writing, creating comic books and dioramas, students will explore how conservation can make a difference and discover how their voices can help protect nature for the future.

Agriculture

Discover the roots of Nebraskan agriculture by exploring the crops, livestock, and farming practices that help feed our communities and shape our state's identity. Youth will gain an appreciation for the people, land, and natural resources that make Nebraska a leader in agriculture.

Ecosystems
 
Explore Nebraska's diverse ecosystems, from prairies and wetlands to forests and rivers, helping youth understand how plants, animals, water, and people are interconnected. Participants will discover the importance of healthy ecosystems and their role in conserving them for future generations.

Want to explore the local outdoors? We love partnering to enjoy nature-focused activities in and around Lincoln. From fishing and kayaking to exploring aquatic wildlife.
